Heya!

I hope you are all doing very well. Today I thought I would do a post about the exhibition which my college held.

So every year the A2 students work is held in a small exhibition were people can come and see the students work being displayed. As I have just finished my A2 course my work was displayed at the exhibition so I thought I would share it with you all.

My work was produced under two separate themes. One for coursework and one for exam. My coursework theme was one which I chose myself and I chose the theme 'personality' and in this project I particularity focused on extrovert personality's and used a lot of bold and bright colours and prints which I will talk about a bit more in a bit. My second theme for my exam was 'truth, fantasy or fiction' and within this I looked at politics and the truth behind it, particularity the fantasy of what peace would be like within politics. I will also explain that a bit more further on in the post.

For my coursework theme of personality I produced a skirt. The skirt was super colorful and had numerous prints on which were created with different techniques. I was particularly focused on the idea of the extrovert personality. I used bold colours and prints to show the craziness and confidence of the personality, I was inspired by people such as Confetti Crowd and Paloma Faith.

My exam piece under the theme politics focusing on the truth and fantasy of the subject I looked at psychedelic prints for peace and rebelliousness through the punk style. For this I produced a waistcoat which I embellished.

Along with my two garments I created I had sketchbooks which accompanied my work and these were also at my exhibition.

On the wall of my section at the exhibition I had some of my portfolio pages which I had produced. These had been predominantly made for my coursework them of personality. They included collage'd fashion designs, photographs of my final outcome and samples of my weaving, trapping and felting.

At the exhibition there was work from all the art and design students which included, textiles, art, and photography. All of the work was very impressive and it was clear lots of work had been put into it.

I hope you enjoyed today's post. Thanks for reading, I will be back again very shortly.

Heya!

I hope you are all doing super well! So today I am doing more of a lifestyle post and as you have probably seen from the title it is about Rihanna's Anti tour. I went to see Rihanna on her tour when she came to Wembely. I can honestly say it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to (and I've been to a lot) so anyway I thought why not share it with you guys?

The tour was being held for Rihanna's latest album 'ANTI'. But she didn't just perform songs for the album. She included classic such as 'we found love' with a remix. All of the songs where put together in a way that there was not a dull moment. Some songs where cropped and merged but it created a whole new vibe with fresh excitement from all of the fans.

But it wasn't just the songs which blew you away. The outfits where incredible. Ri Ri had four complete outfit transformations during the show. Each of these looks accompanied the songs perfectly. The looks where not just typical 'concert' outfits though. they were innovative and creative and supported the whole vibe of the songs.

Rihanna's vocals were something else. She went above and beyond. The passion put into the songs were incredible and I was honestly blown away. The whole staging also created a whole new dimension. There were different platforms and the lighting created different atmospheres for each of the songs being performed.

It was truly an amazing concert. The whole atmosphere was something else from Rihanna's incredible stage presence to the excitement from the fans. An unforgettable concert and an amazing tour.

I hope you have enjoyed having a little read and thank you very much!

Heya!

I hope you are very well! Today's post is a very exciting one! (Well I think it is anyway haha). So as you have probably already guessed from the title it is about my trip to Disney Land which I went on very recently.

I went for two days and one night and went with my friends Ella and Charlotte.

We actually flew out very early in the morning and had transport to our hotel, we then got to the Disney park at 10 am ready for it opening. I will talk about what we did on day one later on in the post. Once day one was complete we went back to our hotel on the free bus service. Our hotel was very close by, it wasn't actually a Disney hotel but everyone there was basically there to go to Disney land. In the morning we had our breakfast which was included with our hotel price and then we set back of to the Disney park to start day two, which I will also talk more about later on in the post. We then had a late flight back at around 10 pm. It was a really amazing and super action packed two days and I am still buzzing from it. So anyway let me get down to what we actually did and what it was like.

So first things first we flew to Paris. I was probably more nervous about the flight then I was anything else. However the flight was surprisingly alright. I didn't get travel sick and it was a super quick journey.

Once we arrived in Paris we had a chauffeur drive us from the airport to our hotel, which may I say felt very fancy.

Once we were had dropped our things of at the hotel we got the free bus service to the Disney park.

Now I don't know if I have mentioned but this was my first time at Disney so everything was just amazing. It was hard to take it all in to be honest. The first thing we did was saw the castle. This was truly very special and memorizing. We of course took lots of selfies and pictures in front of the castle like typical tourists.

We then spent the rest of our first day enjoying lots of the rides in the first park. We went on rides such as 'Its a small world' and of course the carousel ride.

We also got a spot of lunch where we got to watch children perform Disney themed songs whilst eating. I had a fish burger and chips which was actually super yummy.

For the second half of day one at Disney we of course watched the parade. The parade was so magical and honestly one of my favourite things. There was all the characters all glam'ed up and so realistic. It was such a happy and cheerful event, people dancing and the 'magic everywhere' song being played from every corner of the route, it genuinely did feel magical. The characters also were really interactive with everyone and made it so special.

Once the parade had finished we went to have our dinner. On the first day we had our dinner at Annette's Diner. It was super cool. There were waitresses and waiters on roller skates and the whole decor was like a genuine diner. There was a jukebox and super nice pastel green and pink booths. I had a cheeseburger and chips which was also very tasty.

After we had our dinner we went back to the main part of the first park ready to watch the fireworks display and show by the castle. The show was very  magical. the fireworks sparkled in the dark sky and the songs with the light displays over the castle was very emotional and touching. A perfect way to end our first day at Disney.

We then took the free bus back to our hotel and settled in for the night. I went straight of to sleep which is a first for me but no surprise due to how tired I was.

Now day two of Disney was here. We got up nice and early and had our breakfast at the hotel (I basically had a whole plate of hash browns haha). We then got our bus to the park and our second day at Disney begun.

For our second day we went to the other Disney Park. This was also super cool. There was loads of rides in this park and also a lot of history behind Disney.

I must not forget we also MET MICKEY MOUSE AND BUZZ LIGHTYEAR! Goals to be honest haha. They were super cool and we got some professional photos with them.

Whilst in this park we also went on a tram tour around the behind scenes part of Disney. We learnt about the special effects, the costumes and everything that goes into making each thing how it is. This was really fascinating to hear about. We also got to meet Spiderman later on in the day and had a wonder around the park looking at the really cool aesthetics and of course taking lots of pictures.

We then went back to have another look around the first park which we had been to on the previous day as it was so big and we wanted to have another look around. We actually saw Princess Belle and Mary Poppins whilst on our stroll around there.

To finish of our Disney experience in the park we went inside the very famous Disney land castle. We went and had a look inside and it was all very mesmerizing.

There were beautiful stained glass windows which represented different magical moments from the Disney films. It was very grand and a great experience. We also got to look out from the top of the castle were we could oversee all of the park.

For our Dinner on day two we went to Planet Hollywood. A really cool restaurant with different historical pieces from the music industry displayed around the walls. (A bit like the Hard Rock Cafe if you have ever been there).

We then were chauffeured back to the airport for our flight home (and at this point we were all struggling to stay awake after being exhausted from the excitement and long days we had juat had).

We then of course flew home and despite our flight being slightly delayed we still got home before 12 (I think haha) and the flight again was really good. It was actually a very beautiful view as everything was in darkness but at the same time everything was lit up. We could even see places like Wembley as we flew over it!

It was genuinely a great trip and such a great experience especially as I had never been before. I hope you have also enjoyed reading about it. Also as I said I went with my two friends Ella and Charlotte. Some of the images which I used were of course my own and some where Ella's. I will leave the link to her blog below as she too has done a post on the experience.

Thanks so much for reading! See you very soon!

Hey guys!

I'm back today with an outfit post. As the weather is becoming warmer I have some new favorite outfits of mine so I thought why not share one of them with you.

The outfit which I am loving at the moment is a kind of casual boho style.

The outfit consists of wide leg printed trousers, a white sleeveless tee, a denim jacket and accessories. (I will go into more detail of each item further on in the post).

I really like this outfit as it is super practical, not only is it cool to wear perfect for the summer weather but it is also great as you don't have to worry about burning and would be good for any kind of event. It is also super comfy which is a major plus.

Now firstly, as part of this outfit I wore a sleeveless tee from H&M. This was from their conscious range which means it is sustainable so also a bonus. The top is actually very long so I tucked it in, however is perfect for pairing with leggings. The tee is actually also very smooth in texture which I think also gives a more professional look and provides a less casual look as well as being super comfy. (I brought this very recently so it should still be in store if you are interested).

I then layered this with my vintage Levi denim jacket. This is a perfect jacket as it is a washed out colour so not too in your face and is a great lightweight option for keeping the chill away. It also gives the outfit a more casual look.

I then paired this with my Primark wide leg style trousers. They have two layers and can be worn undone to create a flared trouser look. I wear mine tied up which gives the impression of a skirt yet is way more practical than a maxi skirt actually is. The trousers are a crepe like fabric which is super cool to wear and comfy. They also don't crease easily which is a massive plus. I also brought these recently so they are also most probably still available. I also really like these trousers because of the monochrome print. Printed trousers are really in trend at the moment which I love, however they can be hard to style. In this case however because of the monochrome black and white colour to these they pretty much go with anything. I think the fact that the pattern is reasonably subtle helps this too (which makes them much easier to wear more frequently as well).

I accessorized my clothes with one of my long  gold coloured elephant necklace. This meant the top didn't look too plain and also added to the boho vibe that the trousers created. I also think adding a necklace to an outfit dresses it up that little bit more and makes it look like more effort has been put in.

Along with this I wore my gold casio watch (which you cant see in the photos) however I felt this complimented the necklace and is not only a fashion statement but very practical.

In addition I wore my calico tote bag which I am really ,loving at the moment. It is so practical and best of all lightweight. It also goes with literally anything.

I decided to also wear my glasses as I felt the style of them went with the outfit. The tortoiseshell colouring also suited my tote bag. My glasses are from Boots from the brand Lozza and I absolutely love them. (I should probably do another post on them) but they are so great because not only do I think they look nice but the big frame means you can see at any angle and they are soo comfy!

I then completed this outfit with some of my red toned Calvin Klein lipstick which is a subtle muted tone yet adds a nice healthy red tone to your lips.

I hope you have enjoyed a little read of today's post. Thanks for all the support!

Heya!

I hope you are all doing well. Today's post is all about a meeting I had with FSL. I am going to write a little bit about who and what FSL are and then talk a little bit about my meeting with them.

So firstly, FSL stands for Fashion Show LIVE Academy (as you can see in their logo below). They are a charity based company who work with building confidence and self esteem in people. Their program consists of a 24 week program which involves workshops and several different elements of training. During the program designers will be involved as well as professional photographers and will result in and fashion show festival. The fashion show will show the process of how the people from the course have transformed and benefited from the program and gained new confidence.

FSL not only helps people to build on their self esteem but also comes with an AQA credited certificate and provides experience in preparation for work.

FSL as you can see below on the flyer has sponsored Wimbledon Art Studios. As well as the FSL company being supported by several credited charities such as Bernardo's as well as support from the university of Beds and many brands.

So now you know a little bit about who FSL are I thought I would share with you a little bit about our meeting.

At our meeting we discussed the kind of things which FSL offers. This included things like a professional portfolio for the people which had been on the course, in this they would have a professional photo of them and it would be very visually presented with a professional display.

At the meeting I also met with some of the people who will be going on the program. Jade was someone who is going on the course which I met. She is a young mum and the course will enable her to grow as a person and also give her the focus on herself which she needs. I will be doing a separate blog post on her story so keep an eye out for that.

I hope you have enjoyed having a read of today's post even though it is a little different. I will be posting a couple more post about FSL in more detail so keep an eye out for them. I also have a several other posts planned including my trip to Disney so keep a watch on my social media for updates. I will link my social platforms below as well as FSL links so that you can have a look for yourself and find out a bit more about them.

Thanks again for reading and the continued support, I hope you all have a wonderful summer and I will be back with another post very shortly.

Heya!

I hope you are all doing well! Today's post is about the university of beds graduate showing. So as a lot of you will know I love all things creative and particularly fashion related. The uni of beds were holding their yearly show of the graduate work which had been produced. I went along to see some of the work as I find looking at what students have produced super inspiring. I also like the idea of getting a better understanding of the type of thing I will be doing at uni.

The graduate show was for the whole of art and design so included subjects like Photography, 3D Design, Art, and Fashion.

I was particularly interested by the art and the fashion. I found it very inspiring and I took some photos so I thought why not share them with you?

A lot of the art on display had a very abstract kind of style to it. I actually really like this kind of style. I really liked the layering of strokes and how these created an in depth look. The combination of medias also interested me from the look of acrylics, spray and print.

The fashion was the thing which really stood out to me at the graduate show. The garments where lay out in a runway formation which I thought was very unique as normally as exhibitions the garments are just placed in front of a white board. There was also garments around the room on different levels which I also really liked as it meant different angles of garments where focused on.

The first image of the fashion piece had a wool combined felt texture to it which I really liked. It was unusual but still high quality, this was along side ruffled sleeves in a chiffon style fabric.  This had in depth layers and worked really well in contrast with the felt style fabric. I was really intrigued by this piece. It was unusual but not in obvious ways but the uncommon combinations worked really well and complimented one another.

I also really liked the pleated brown garment. The shades of brown together gave the garment a contoured look. The pleats them emphasized this with the straight triangular angles. This is something I would like to work on with creating in an experimental aspect.

I was then really interested in the blue blazer style of garment. Recently I have been loving thick silk style textures. This particularly stood out in the electric blue tone. I also liked how it was a cropped style as I feel this kind of garment is really great on a petite figure for emphasizing the waist the darts also give the blazer the shape which would emphasis curves. The blazer has both a smart yet contemporary look to it and I think that is a hard concept to grasp and I really liked it.

The cuts on the jackets also really interested me. Trending recently has been un-hemed edges. I actually really like this I feel it adds more of a straight shape to garments and I felt that this kind of look was particularly shown in the garments in the picture above.

This piece was of particular interest to me. I have been really drawn to neck-wear recently and after seeing this piece I have been really inspired to start experimenting with the concept. This whole piece worked with Victorian shapes in a very modern contemporary way and I think this created a great result. The basic colours also meant emphasis was put onto the shape which I found interesting.

At the fashion section of the exhibition there was also portfolios on display. This gave a really good understanding of the process of making the garments and I found this particularly interested as this will be what I will be creating at University.

I hope you enjoyed today's post! I will be back Thursday with another. Thank you for reading!
