Heya!

I hope you have all been well! Its Monday so I am of course here for my weekly post. Sorry its a bit later today but I have been rather busy. Today's post is more of a lifestyle post, I thought I would share with you somewhere which I have been recently which I really enjoy. Now as you have probably already realised from the title it was Woburn Safari park. So I better finish this very long introduction and actually get started!

I hadn't been to Woburn for years and I could barley remember it so I was extremely excited! So some of you may know and some of you may not but Woburn Safari Park is somewhere that you can drive through and see lots of different animals. A lot of them at a very close distance too. Once you have driven around all of the park there is also a section where you can walk around and visit some more animals.

We drove past animals such as Deer, Rhinos, Tigers, Lions, Wolf, bears, and Zebras. Because I couldn't remember the last time I had been I was honestly so shocked by how close the animals came. As soon as we got there we were greeted by Deer coming right up on the road side and accompanying us along the road. It was also really amazing to see the Lions and Tigers and see what beautiful creatures they truly are. It is something people always talk about but until you see them up close its hard to really understand.

I also loved the Zebras. I felt like I was being remind of so many childhood film favorites of mine like Madagascar and Racing stripes!

Once the safari drive through was over there was a section where you could park and have a walk around to see some of the smaller animals and also attend the talks. This part was actually way better than I expect. I thought that it would only be small because of the safari section being the main feature however there was actually a really vast range of animals and also lots of talks going on too!

As we walked around we got to see animals such as Meerkats, Monkeys, Sea-lions, Penguins, Lemurs tortoises and of course lots more!

We were actually able to see the Meerkats being fed whilst finding out a bit more about them from the keeper. We got to see some of the Monkeys whilst walking around too, which was really nice because we didn't drive through the Monkey section due to being cautious about our car.

The Lemurs were actually also very entertaining. They came right up to us and were very playful.

We also went to one of the Bird shows which is of course always fascinating to watch! We saw all kinds of Birds from Owls to Hawks. We got to learn so much about them. I honestly think they are so incredible.

Now this is my favourite part. I left it till the end because honestly it was the highlight of my day. If you haven't guessed it by now it was the Elephant show! It was honestly soo great. We even got to see the baby elephant! Even more we were aloud to pat the elephant at the end which made it extra special!

Its been a slightly different post today but I want to keep my lifestyle posts updated and show you guys some of the exciting things I've been up to. I honestly really loved my visit and I hope you all enjoyed reading about it! See you next week. Thank you!

Heya!

I hope you are all well. Today's post is going to be an outfit post! Now it may be spring but it certainly doesn't feel like it if you ask me! Especially if you have to walk to college. So I thought why not do an outfit post which has cheerful spring vibes but is nice a cosy for those not so warm days that this unpredictable English weather throws at us.

Now to provide some warmth Leah chose to wear a warm pink watermelon coloured duster style of coat. This style of coat is currently very popular. It is a great option as its not too heavy but the straight shape of it creates a sophisticated look. It is also warm to wear but not thermal as such so perfect for the chilly kind of weather which is about at the moment. I personally think the colour of this coat is what it makes it perfect and so suitable for the spring. It is a really nice bright colour so carries the cheerfulness of spring with it.

Leah accessorized her outfit with a long navy tartan scarf. Now firstly long scarfs are a great investment. You can style them in so many different ways and they will be sure to keep you super warm. Because its not majorly cold at the moment Leah wears hers loosely, I really like this style as it creates a lovely focus onto the scarf. Now the scarf is obviously patterned and because the focus is on the pattern you automatically look very stylish as tartan is of course a fashion trend. I also think you just cant go wrong with tartan. It is currently in trend and even if it does fade away it always pops back up as a favoruite in the winter months so a tartan scarf could honestly last you years! Personally I also think colour wise navy and pink work really well together as a combination.

Because we are looking for a casual but trendy kind of outfit for college skinny jeans work so well with this look. They are comfy and practical as well a stylish. Skinny jeans also are a great option for this outfit because they put some shape into the outfit which makes up for the straight cut coat. The navy colour of the jeans also compliments the navy scarf really well.

Layers are great for warmth and for styling. Leah has worn a grey jumper under her pink duster coat and the sleeves pop out from underneath. This creates a more styled look. The grey colour also works really well as a neutral tone against the vivid pink coloured coat.

For her bag Leah wears a Shopper style bag. These are perfect for college they can fit A4 books and folders in yet they still have a really professional and polished look. They also fit perfectly over the shoulder which makes them very practical. The shopper bag is black in colouring which not only adds to the sophistication but also accessorizes really well with her shoes.

Leah's shoes are a black ankle boot buckle style. Ankle boots are perfect because they keep your feet warm and are super comfortable. The buckle on them also means you can adjust them in order for them to fit you better. The black colour works really well with the black shopper bag and pulls the outfit together.

I think this outfit is perfect for the chilly spring weather which we have at the moment. I hope you liked it and I hope you all have a wonderful week. Once again thank you so much for having a little read I really do appreciate it. Do feel welcome to leave any comments below if you want to ask me anything or leave any suggestions. Thanks!

Heya!

I hope you are all doing well! Firstly I would like to apologise for not uploading a post last Monday. It is the Easter holidays and I have been super busy but I don’t want to make up excuses I basically lost track of the days and completely forgot! However I am back today for a new post, yay!
So for part of my textiles course we went on a trip to London to visit the Saatchi gallery. I really enjoyed it so I thought I’d talk about that today and show you all some of the pictures.

The Saatchi gallery is located in London, in the Chelsea area. As you may or may not know Chelsea is a very nice area of London. As soon as you walk out from the tube station you are greeted with marvellous architecture and designer shops. However I will go into that in more detail a little bit later on!

Anyway the walk to Saatchi Gallery is very short so not inconvenient at all. For those of you who may not know the Saatchi Gallery is home to all kinds of contemporary style art. I visited whilst the Champagne Life exhibition was on. Now as a student who does a creative arts subject I have visited a lot of galleries and although I am someone who appreciates that kind of thing I must admit some are a lot better than others. This was my first time however visiting the Saatchi gallery to view the work. I had previously been for London fashion week and I knew contemporary art was something that interested me so I must admit I did have high hopes upon arrival.

However my expectations did not fail me. I really, really liked the gallery. All the walls were white so the focus was purely on the art. There was such a wide variety of work and involved things such as paintings, sculptures, photographs and all sorts. The work on display also covered very interesting and current issues such as the Syrian refugee crisis, animal rights and many other things. I think I was partly so interested in it because of how up to date the work was with challenging current affairs and it was so interesting to see views like these portrayed through creative elements. The gallery also included famous artists and even school children who were obviously not professionals but clearly very talented. Being able to see such a range of work which was completely different however all in a contemporary style was very inspiring. It is definitely somewhere I would recommend taking a trip to if contemporary art interests you.

Now not only did we visit the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea but we also browsed through the very well known stores and strolled along lots of the very beautiful painted houses and architectural buildings.
There were many shops along Kings Road but the one which me and my friend’s particularly loved was Brandy Melville. This is a shop which is not located all over England and only has a few stores here in the UK so when stumbling upon it we just had to go in. I love the Brandy Melville style. Most people I guess would think of it as a tumblr style. I think I would say if you don’t know what it is it basically sells really cute chic clothing which is both super comfy and casual as well as being really pretty at the same time. The materials which the clothes are made out of are so so soft though, it is almost dreamy!

We went in a few other shops but also had a good look at all the buildings. On Kings Road we found a little section of houses which were all brightly painted in pastel colours. There was pink, blue, yellow, purple, green, and any colour you could imagine to be honest. They were super, super cute and I couldn’t help but talk about them in this post!

All in all I had a really lovely day so I thought I would share it with you. If you are on your Easter Holidays at the moment I hope you are enjoying yourself and have some time to relax. Thanks so much for reading! I’ll be back again next week!

Heya!

I am back for my weekly post. Today's post is a little bit different. Its a kind of chatty review I guess you could say.

So what is today's post actually about? Well recently I have had an amazing opportunity to do a collaboration for a super cool online store called 'Coconut Lane'. Today I will be talking a little bit about that and about the first thing I purchased from them!

So who are Coconut Lane? Well as I previously mentioned they are basically an online store. They sell a variety of really cute, sassy and chic items. This includes things like wall art, cards, phone cases, jewellery, clothing, stationary and sunglasses.

Now in today's post I wanted to focus on the first thing which I purchased from them. This was one of their wall art prints.

You can actually choose when purchasing this item if you would like it to be framed or not and what colour you would like the print and frame to be. Although I think the prints in the frames look super classy and sophisticated I personally chose to get it unframed as I thought this would be more practical for taking to Uni with me.

If you are looking to put the frame somewhere in your room and have space I would definitely recommend the framed option as it gives that professional look. However I think mine looks just as good without a frame. Furthermore the accommodation at the Uni I am hoping to go to actually has a giant pin board so I thought this would be the perfect print for that to break up some of my photographs so it doesn't look to jumbled and over crowded.

I personally chose my print to be in white and black as I feel like you cant go wrong with white and black. It will go with anything and it looks a bit more polished and elegant.

The print comes on a really thick piece of white card which makes it really durable if you choose not to get your print framed which is really handy.

Coconut Lane not only sell super fun items but they are also a great company too. They work very closely with bloggers and as a result I was fortunate enough to do a collaboration with them. This means if anyone wants to purchase anything from coconut lane they can simply use my code and get 20% off! My code for the discount is 'jodiem20' .

I really hope you have enjoyed reading this post! Don't forget I love to hear any feedback about my blog. I hope you are also all doing well, also remember if you want to purchase anything from coconut lane use my discount code 'jodiem20' .

Thanks for reading! See you next week!

Heya!

I'm back and today's post is an outfit post which will particularly be focusing on the camel coat look.

So let's get started! The camel colour is hugely popular at the moment and has been worn regularly by several of the Kardashian's. One of the key high street trends the colour has been seen on is the tailored duster style women's coats. Much like the one my friend Brittany is wearing in the pictures.

This duster style coat is very popular at the moment with both high street fast fashion and ready-to-wear branded clothing. It is a perfect item for keeping you warm in the winter weather yet still making sure you look on trend at the same time. I personally love this style coat. I think it looks really professional and completes an outfit.

For this outfit Brittany has paired her camel coloured coat with a light brown knitted jumper. The light brown colour compliments the camel colour really nicely and adds depth to the outfit by bringing in another shade of the similar colour. This creates a harmonious look. The knitted style of the jumper also provides extra warmth for winter weather as well as adding another on trend style.

To accompany the outfit Brittany has worn skinny fit black Joni jeans. Joni jeans are the perfect option for any kind of outfit. They are both casual but also look smart due to the fit and colour. A perfect option to pair a knitted jumper with.

For shoes Brittany wore slightly heeled style boots. These are a major high street trend at the moment. They are so versatile in terms of what you can wear them with. They go with pretty much anything. In this case Brittany's are black which matches the jeans perfectly. This particular pair also have a slightly suede look to them which makes them a double trend item. I personally think Brittany's pair are super fab because the heel/platform is not too high which means they are totally wearable for day to day wear yet they still look slightly more dressed up and smart.

To accessorize Brittany has added a small and very pretty silver pendant necklace as well as some silver classy rings. This makes the look more feminine and creates a more sophisticated look.

I hope you liked this weeks outfit post! I of course will be back next week but with a slightly different post. Thank you all for reading!

Heya!

I am back, today's post is slightly different but I wanted to let you guys know about what I have been up to recently so I thought I would share with you one of the things I did this weekend.

There have actually been a lot of things which I have done recently which is why I have only been able to blog once a week. But hopefully I will get to catch up with you all soon about everything. So let's get started!

Now last Saturday I went to a women's rights protest in London. I actually went because I wanted to get some primary research pictures for my textiles. I am doing my work in textiles around the theme politics so I really wanted to get some first hand inspiration.

Now I had never actually been to a protest before so this was my first experience! The protest started on Oxford Street just outside of Selfridges. The march was formed of lots of different groups which had come together to stand up for women's rights.

Seeing everyone marching together and chanting for women was very empowering and I am really glad I got to experience it. The march is held annually every year. I thought it was a very appropriate post for today as international women's day is tomorrow.

The protest was actually very big many people joined in and the march lead all the way up to Trafalgar square where a rally was then held.

My trip was really successful as I was able to capture some create photos which I will definitely be able to use for my textiles.

Today's post has been very short but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss out on a post and I wanted to let you all know what I have been up to. In the next few weeks I may also have slightly shorter posts as deadlines are approaching and exams are just around the corner so I have a lot of work to do. Anyway I hope you are all well and enjoyed this slightly different read today. I will be back soon. Thanks for reading!

Heya!

I'm back again and today's post is going to be my last outfit post with the mono mix theme! I would also like to apologies for not posting in what feels like forever! (even though its only been a week) anyway my internet has been down so I haven't been able to post anything. Well I better get started. Today's outfit I styled on my friend Aimee who as you will see has silver hair, very convenient for a mono mix post! It is also a more of a grunge style outfit which I thought some of you might be interested in.

To create an edgy look I chose a wardrobe essential to style Aimee. Yes of course a classic black leather jacket! I love these as they are so great for any style outfit and can worn both dressy and casual. To give it a more styled and grungy look Aimee opted for rolled up sleeves which just makes the jacket look slightly unique.

For Aimee's top we choose a black and white mono printed shirt. Printed shirts are literally one of my favorite things. Once again you can dress them up or down and I honestly think they are so versatile. Because this post is for a more edgy style we choose to have the shirt tucked out. I think this also created a nice look with the leather jacket as it was slightly longer which again helped create an edgy look.

For jewelry we didn't want to overpower this look because it would have created a more punk style rather than grunge. Instead I chose to accessories Aimee with silver; this was because the detailing on her jacket was a dark silver in colour so I thought it would compliment it well. In terms of jewelry we chose a pendant charm necklace as this made the look slightly more feminine but still fitted in with the theme. To keep a edgy style Aimee also wore a silver/grey nose ring.

In terms of Aimee's hair it was already pretty cool. I mean look how amazing the colour is! Anyway to just create a more stylish look Aimee styled her hair in a half up do bun. This created a free spirited hairstyle with an edge.

For shoes we opted for the classic black ankle boots. Ankle boots are again one of my favorite things as they can be worn with almost anything. For this look the boots were also leather which created a create combo for the jacket and also a more rebellious choice.

This is has been my outfit post on a mono mix edgy look. I hope you have enjoyed it! Thanks so much for having a read and the support!
